Environment
Protection of environment has always been the prime concern of OPGC and efforts are made to keep the environment clean and healthy. Close to 35% of the plant and its colony area are covered with green belt & high-density plantation. Installation of Kitchen waste-based Biogas Plant, Sewerage Treatment Plant, 100% Ash Water Recycling System, online emission monitoring system, recycle reuse of liquid and solid wastes are symbolic steps taken by ITPS for preservation and protection of environment. FGD (Flue Gas Desulfurization) system retrofit work is in progress in OPGC II (2X660) as a part of compliance requirement to meet SO2 emission norm.

OPGC is committed to ensure that each of its employees should return home with a smile by keeping safety at top of its core value. The EHS management system is in line with Global safety standards which help it to achieve a sustainable safety culture.

Health
OPGC possesses a well-equipped hospital with modern instruments and specialized doctors & staff provide the best possible medical assistance to the employees and the community people. Annual Health Camp is being organized in peripheral villages. Annual health checkup is carried out for all employees including contractor employees. Shop floor monitoring of noise & dust is carried out on regular basis. All employees when in field are equipped with adequate PPEs to reduce occupational health hazards.
