Mr. Kotharamath Murali assumed the office of Managing Director of OPGC on 20th August, 2013. Mr. Murali took the charges from Mr. Venkatachalam K. who resigned from the post in August, 2013. Mr Murali joined OPGC, on deputation from AES India, as Sr.General Manager (EPC) in 2010 and was heading the EPC team prior to becoming the MD.

An M.Tech. in Maintenance Engineering & Management from IIT Chennai, Mr. Murali has been leading the engineering team at OPGC expansion project and is responsible for execution of EPC contracts. While he is part of the business development team, Mr. Murali exhibits strong passion for safety. Under the leadership of Mr. Murali his team had drafted an excellent technical specification and commercial contract for which OPGC recently signed EPC contract with BHEL for BTG for its 2x 660 MW expansion project. He is instrumental for planning and implementation of various R&R and CSR policies drafted for project area at ITPS, Banharpali and coal mines areas of Hemgiri and Manoharpur in Jharsuguda and Sundergarh districts of Odisha.
