Bhubaneswar/ IB Thermal, 08/04/2021: During his visit to IB Thermal Power Station today, Sri Nikunja B. Dhal, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government, Department of Energy, Odisha and Chairman of OPGC Ltd. inaugurated the newly constructed indoor sports complex of OPGC at IB Thermal Power Station Colony.

Principal Secretary, Energy Shri Dhal inaugurated the sports complexat 9.00AM with ritualistic puja in presence of Managing Director of OPGC Shri Prashant Kumar Mohapatra and Director (Operation) Shri Sukanta Mohapatra. Senior officials and employees of OPGC, IB Thermal Power Station witnessed the event while following all the social distancing norms considering the current surge in COVID-19 cases in the State. An oath ceremony was also organised inside the sports complex where all present pledged to follow all COVID-19 guidelines to combat the spread of the disease.

Later Chairman of OPGC Shri Dhal, along with Managing Director and Director(Operation) were taken on a tour of the whole sports complex. The complex is an ultra-modern one having many indoor sports facilities like Basketball / Volleyball / Badminton Courts, Gymnasium, Yoga / Aerobics Room, Table Tennis Room, Squash Room and Swimming Pools.This sports facility shall provide the much needed opportunity for healthy utilization of free time for employees and their family members as well as build a sportsman and team spirit in them.
