Bhubaneswar/ IB Thermal, 13/04/2021:Shri Manasa Ranjan Rout, has joined as Director(Operations) of Odisha Power Generation Corporation Ltd.

Shri Rout has an illustrious career over a period of 33 years in power plant operations and maintenance. Before joining OPGC as Director (Operations), he was positioned as Joint President at Adani Power Maharastra Ltd. in which he led the operation and maintenance of 5 X 660MW super critical units located at Tiroda near Nagpur, Maharashtra. Before being elevated as the Joint President, Shri Rout proved his mettle in the field by successfully managing operations of 12410 MW Thermal Power Generation of Adani Power Limited at 6 locations across India in 5 states while heading the operations and Technical services as Senior Vice President-Operations & Technical Services. He joined Adani Power as General Manager (Operations) leading all aspects of India’s largest Single location coal based plant (4 X 330 MW + 5 X 660 MW) located at Mundra. Shri Rout is credited with many significant contributions during his 10 years long stint in Adani Power which helped the organization achieve highest level of operational excellence.

Shri Rout is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from UCE (now VSSUT), Burla (1986 Batch) and M.Tech in Quality, Reliability and Operations Research from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. His 33 years of remarkable career so far includes a tenure of 14 years in OPGC- IB Thermal Power Station itself. He started his journey in power plant operations from the erstwhile Talcher Thermal Power Station (TTPS) in 1987 as Assistant Manager. After a five year stint at TTPS he joined OPGC at IB Thermal Power Station in 1993 and served for 14 long years before moving on to Vedanta, BALCO as A.G.M. (Operation & Maintenance). He was heading the operations of 9 X135 MW units at Vedanta Aluminium Ltd. located at Jharsuguda when he moved on to join Adani Power Limited.
